About us

Thames Valley University (TVU) is one of the UK’s largest and most diverse Universities with around 41,500 students from 117 countries.

TVU has over 140 years experience in delivering technical and vocational education. Achieving university status in 1992, TVU merged with Reading College and School of Arts and Design in 2004 to form one of the largest universities in Europe.

The university is based on three campuses in Ealing (London) and in Reading and Slough in Berkshire. All have excellent road and rail links and students benefit from being less than 20 minutes from central London and Heathrow airport, with the Berkshire countryside and Thames Valley region on their doorstep.

Funded by the British Government, through the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and the Learning and Skills Councils, the University is monitored as a high quality education provider by the Quality Assurance Agency.
